Advanced Work Packaging (AWP): A More Efficient Construction Workflow

AWP, first pioneered on mega projects and now possible at any scale, is
the answer to an age-old construction problem.

It seems like a simple and logical concept, but it has been devilishly hard
to perfect in construction. Cost overruns and missed schedule targets
are the biggest pain points in the industry, with 65% of mega projects
seen as a failure - coming in over budget, over plan (schedule), or with
significant operational problems after startup.

While these stats mention large projects, smaller project owners express
the same concerns, with 35% of projects under $500 million
experiencing similar issues.

Inefficiencies plague the construction process. Time lost
waiting on tools and/or materials; unnecessary rework due
to incomplete/outdated information; out-of-sequence work
which increases complexity for project flow and completion.

These common problems nibble away at profit margins that
are already shrinking at an alarming rate. Without a clear
path out of this chaos, many firms feel trapped in an industry
plagued by systemic problems.
